Things to do this weekend (January 15-17th Edition)

Oh baby it’s cold outside but there are a few fun things to do this weekend in Montreal that’ll make you feel all warm and cozy. What about a hot chocolate tasting marathon? Igloofest? Artisanal beer? The cold weather doesn’t seem so bad now, does it?

Friday January 15

Igloofest | Old Port @7:30pm to midnight
Going on 10 years this winter, Igloofest brings together thousands of electronic music fans to dance under the stars in Montreal’s Old Port. Bringing together icy decors, powerful architectural projections, a giant playground, and programs featuring the best local and international Djs, Igloofest is one of THE hottest events in the city. Time to pull off your “iglooswag”!

Birra Launching Party | 7129 St-Laurent Boulevard @5pm
Rosemont opened a new beer bar in its hood on December 18th and the official party is this Friday! Birra offers exclusive beers made in the neighborhood with recipes developed at the La Succursale brewery. Beers amateurs, this is for you; the new bar offers 17 different brews, no less.

KickDrum Winter Marathon | Le Dépanneur Café @10am to 5pm
This coffee shop is a very, very special place in town. Unknown to many, this eclectic and charming cafe hosts 7 different local perfomers from 10am-5pm everyday! So, KickDrum wanted to help highlight some of the performers who will be playing on the days of their Winter Marathon, January 14-16 at Le Dépanneur Café.

Saturday January 16


Dômesicle | SAT 10pm@3am
The Dômesicle parties are back… in its winter form! Until February 20th, come party under the dome and the terrace at the SAT for a series of 7 nights of electronic music with a program of 30 artists. This Saturday, welcome RYAN PlaygroundGrandBudaNoo-Bap and Naadei as Djs and AZYL and Sean Caruso as Vjs.

‘’La grande tournée du chocolat chaud’’ | Jean-Talon Market
From January 16 to 24, you can kick off the cold season with a hot chocolate tasting. Slurp!
