Coming soon is Montreal’s 12th annual art and tattoo convention. Over 200 artists are set to descend on Gare Windsor next weekend for the city’s largest tattoo expo yet. International artists, as well as Canada’s best, will join together on September 5-6-7. The convention is open to the general public. Tickets and weekend passes are available at Studio Tattoo Mania (1615 de Maisonneuve East), or at the door. Kids under 12 get in for free.
Whether you have ink or not, the tattoo convention is worth checking out. With the tattoo culture becoming more and more main stream, this convention keeps getting bigger, with the addition of many more talented artists. It is a gathering place for tattoo artists of all styles, tattoo enthusiasts, tattoo shops, tattoo related art, and so much more. As well as live tattooing, you should expect live shows during the day, including bands like East End Radicals and The Skinny, as well as burlesque performances, including the very talented Lavender May.
Come and get tattooed, or just shop around for your next piece. Artists are available to chat, and most importantly, get you informed. The convention holds a ton of interesting other kiosks as well, with awesome Montreal clothing brands including Young Ghosts Clothing, pin up models, like Suicide Girls, jewelry , books, and so much more. As per convention rules, the weekend will hold body art seminars. An aspect of the convention you really need to check out is the art exhibit and silent auction. Some if the artists have created some spectacular art on canvas which are all up for grabs. If you aren’t interested it getting it on your body, you can always hang it on your wall!
The line up this year is really something to see. Of course, there are way too many to list, so come on down and find the style that fits you best!
